We check your area is open
One business per trade, per area, so the first thing we do is confirm nobody else has your trade in your patch. If it is taken, we say so.
We generate the enquiry, and it goes to your business alone. Not to you and everyone else who got the same notification, so the job is not decided on who rang back cheapest.
One business per trade, per area. $300 to start, no lock-in.

No dashboards to learn and nothing for you to run. The enquiry reaches you the way you already take work.
These are the trades we generate work for most often. If yours is not on the list, ask anyway.
We are not limited to these ten. If your trade depends on local customers finding you, tell us what you do and where you work.
Wherever you are based, we can work there. We only take on one business per trade in an area, so the enquiries in a market are never split between two of our own clients. These are the areas we are already set up in.
Not seeing your area? That is fine. If there is search demand for your trade where you work, there is a good chance we can make it work. Tell us the area and we will check it for you.

We take one business per trade, per area. Tell us your trade and where you work and we will let you know if it is open.
There are only a handful of ways work reaches an Australian trade business, and most tradies end up using two or three without ever pricing them against each other.
Here is the honest version of each, including what it is genuinely good at. We only sell one of these, and we would rather you picked the right one than the one we happen to run.
Good at
Work from a standing start. You can sign up this afternoon and have enquiries by the end of the week, with no website, no reviews and no waiting on Google. Nothing else on this list does that.
What it costs
hipages publishes plans from $139 to $649 plus GST a month, with 155 to 810 lead credits included (hipages.com.au/membership-costs, checked 5 September 2026). Oneflare, ServiceSeeking and Airtasker work on similar credit or commission models.
Who else gets the job
Several tradies. hipages calls a lead a job invitation rather than a job, and their own consumer promise is up to three quotes, so more than one business is working the same enquiry.
The catch
You are quoting against other businesses on the same job, so the price gets pushed down before you have met anyone. The monthly figure is also not the number that matters. What matters is the cost per job you actually win, and that is the monthly figure divided by your strike rate.
Good at
The best free thing a trade business owns. A complete profile with real photos and a steady flow of reviews will bring in calls in your own suburb for nothing but the time it takes to keep it current.
What it costs
Free, plus the hours to maintain it and chase reviews.
Who else gets the job
Nobody. A call from your profile is your call.
The catch
It is limited to how far the map pack will show you, which is usually not far. It also rewards consistency over months, so it does nothing about a quiet fortnight in front of you.
Good at
The only asset on this list you keep. Rankings you build do not switch off when you stop paying, and traffic that arrives through your own pages arrives without a middleman.
What it costs
A site, then ongoing content and technical work. Real money and real months.
Who else gets the job
Nobody.
The catch
Slow. Competitive trades in capital cities are a long climb, and it does nothing for cash flow in the meantime. Worth building underneath something faster, not instead of it.
Good at
Speed and control. Someone searching for an emergency in your suburb can be on the phone within the hour, and you decide the postcode, the hours and the daily spend.
What it costs
Whatever you set, plus the time to manage it. Trade keywords in the capitals are not cheap.
Who else gets the job
Nobody, though the same searcher usually clicks two or three ads.
The catch
It stops the day you stop paying, and an account left alone quietly wastes money on the wrong searches. It is a job in itself, which is why most tradies who try it stop within a few months.
Good at
The best leads any trade business gets. They arrive pre-sold, they rarely haggle, and they cost nothing. Every good tradie should be building this deliberately rather than hoping for it.
What it costs
Free.
Who else gets the job
Nobody.
The catch
You cannot turn it up when you need it. It is the reason for the feast and famine cycle, not the fix for it.
Good at
Predictable volume you do not have to run. The enquiry comes to one business, so the job is decided on whether you are the right tradie rather than the cheapest of three.
What it costs
$300 to start with us, no lock-in.
Who else gets the job
Nobody. One business per trade, per area.
The catch
It is not free and it is not instant. There is setup before the first enquiry lands, and if your area is already taken by another business in your trade, we cannot take you on.
Most trade businesses that are busy year-round are running three or four of these at once. The mistake is not picking the wrong one, it is never checking what any of them cost per job won.
Marketplaces price in credits, which makes the real number hard to see. It is not hard to work out, because the plans and the credits are both published.
These are hipages' own figures from hipages.com.au/membership-costs, checked on 5 September 2026. The last column is just the plan price divided by the credits it includes.
| Plan | Price | Included | Per credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $139 + GST | 155 credits | $0.90 |
| Advanced | $249 + GST | 310 credits | $0.80 |
| Premium | $449 + GST | 595 credits | $0.75 |
| Platinum | $649 + GST | 810 credits | $0.80 |
How many credits a single lead costs is not published, and it genuinely varies by trade, location, job size and demand. So take the credit price your own app shows you and put it through this:
cost per job won = (credits per lead × price per credit) ÷ your win rate
That division is the whole point. If you win one job in three, the real cost of every lead you paid for is three times the sticker price. Our lead value calculator will do the sum against your own job value if you want to see it properly.
A marketplace sends you whatever the customer posted. We decide what the system goes after before we build it, so the enquiries that land are the ones you wanted. Here is what that looks like depending on where the business is up to.
Aimed at the everyday jobs
You need work this month, so we build for the jobs people search for constantly in your suburbs rather than the rare big ones. Straightforward work, quoted fast, that fills a diary while the business is still finding its feet. Your name goes on it from day one, so nothing you pay for is building somebody else's profile.
Aimed at steady volume
The problem is not visibility, it is that the good months and the empty months are not in your control. A steady flow of enquiries that come to you alone fixes the planning problem as much as the revenue one, and we can widen or tighten the area as your capacity moves.
Aimed at the bigger jobs
This is where exclusive leads pull furthest ahead of a marketplace, because the work is chosen before the first enquiry arrives. A roofer who wants commercial metal roofing instead of repairs gets a system built for commercial metal roofing, so the calls that come in are those projects. Same for a concreter after commercial slabs, or a builder after full renovations.
Same money, one recipient
The thing that burnt you was the sharing, not the paying. Being one of several on every job is a different arrangement to being the only one, and it changes what a lead is worth before you have quoted anything. Start on the trial, and if it does not work you have spent $300 finding out.
Yes. Every enquiry goes to one business only. We take one business per trade in an area, so you are not quoting against another one of our clients either.
That is the difference between this and a marketplace. On a marketplace the same enquiry goes to several tradies at once, so you are competing on price before the customer has met anyone.
It starts at $300 with no lock-in contract. That covers the setup and the first run so you can see what the enquiries look like before committing to anything ongoing.
After that it depends on your trade and your area, because what a lead is worth to a builder and what it is worth to a tiler are not the same number. We give you a figure before you start, not after.
Those are marketplaces. You pay for access to a pool of leads that other tradies are also paying for, and more than one of you can end up quoting the same job.
We generate the enquiry and send it to one business. You are not buying a place in a queue, and there are no credits to spend or run out of.
There is setup before the first enquiry lands, so this is not a same-day thing the way signing up to a marketplace is. We will give you a realistic timeframe for your trade and area on the first call.
If you need work this week, a marketplace will do that faster and we will tell you so.
No. We build and run the pages the enquiries come through, so the system works whether or not you have a site of your own.
Having your own site is still worth it for other reasons, and we build those too, but it is not a requirement to start.
Then we cannot take you on for that trade in that area, and we will say so on the first call rather than sign you up and split the leads.
It is worth asking anyway. Areas open up, and the boundaries are often narrower than people assume.
A phone call or a form with the person's name, their suburb and what the job is, while they are still actively looking.
You quote it the way you quote anything else. There is nothing to log into and no dashboard to check.
Fencing, concreting, asbestos removal, plastering, roofing, demolition, building, earthworks, epoxy flooring and tiling, most often. What we generate is different for each one, because a $400 repair and a $40,000 build are not the same enquiry.
That list is not a limit. If your trade relies on local customers finding you, ask.
Tell us your trade and the area you work in. We will check whether it is open, give you a straight figure, and you can decide from there.
$300 to start, no lock-in, and one business per trade per area. If we cannot make it work for you we will say so on the first call.
Would rather just talk it through?
